As a 25 year old married college student I have some… unique experiences. Many people I talk to in my college town are surprised that I’m either a) married at such a young age, or b) still in college at such an old age.
I work for my school’s student publication The Stylus and it is there I am reminded just how different my life experience is from many of my coworkers, who are mostly all between the ages of 18 and 21. But hey, when you finally figure out what you want to do with your life you choose not to let the discomfort of being the odd person out stop you.
As a student I study English creative writing and minor in multimedia journalism. So the long and short, I really like to write. It’s super cliche, but honestly it’s what I’ve always loved and, in some part of my soul I think I knew it was something I would end up doing for the rest of my life.
So yeah, I’m here because #writingislife and because, by nature, I’m a total oversharer. I’m what I would lovingly refer to as a social introvert, or maybe a reserved extrovert? I haven’t nailed down the details but basically I have a social quota that needs to be met in order for me to feel fulfilled. However, if I max out that quota I’m likely to spend several days at home in my cozy bed listening to soft music.
I’ve noticed that so many of the bloggers and influencers I follow on social media have this perfectly curated and crafted life. If that’s what you’re looking for please turn back now. My life is real and messy and super awkward at times. I’m constantly changing and growing — and growth is often an uncomfortable process — so get ready for things to get weird.
I hope you’ll join me on this journey through life that is sometimes chaotic but always beautiful.
